STRATFORD HOUSING AUTHORITY
WAIT LIST OPENING
Elderly Rental Program (Senior/Disabled) - State and Federal
The Stratford Housing Authority will be accepting PRE-APPLICATIONS for its State and Federal Elderly Rental Housing Programs. The procedure will be as follows:
On April 6 and 7, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Raymond Baldwin Apartments Community Building, Griffen Street, you or a representative must personally pick up a pre-application. Everyone who comes in on either April 6th or 7th within the times stated will receive a pre-application. There is no need to arrive early to wait in line.
You may return the completed pre-application on April 6 or April 7, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but not later than 4:00 p.m. on April 7, 2010.
In order to ensure fairness and provide equal opportunity for selection to the wait list, only onepre-application will be accepted for each prospective household. If more than one pre-application is received containing one or more of the same names and/or social security numbers of any household members, all pre-applications containing the duplicate names shall be rejected. Incomplete pre-applications will also be rejected. Pre-applications must bear the original signature(s) of head(s) of household and date, or the pre-application will be considered incomplete and rejected.
Pre-applications received will be placed in a lottery drawing. 300 pre-applications will be initially drawn to fill the waiting list.
The lottery draw will be performed by an independent third party on April 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Raymond Baldwin Apartment Community Building, Griffen Street. Applicants need not be present. All applicants will be notified via regular mail regarding the results of the draw.
The Stratford Housing Authority does not discriminate based upon race, color, disability, financial status, religion, sex or national origin. The Authority has determined that, based upon experience, number of applicants on the waiting list and the anticipated number of admissions, 300 pre-applications will provide an adequate pool of applicants who are likely to qualify for the Elderly Rental Program.
